M`Lady / Sirs?

Veamos:

In order for one to be able to work In (these) United States, one has to be either:

A US Citizen, a US National OR, one can opt to achieve a Legal Permanent Resident Alien status and obtain a Green Card, through marriage to a US Citizen, though, the route to a Green Card is, well…`Tela`!!! It may take 3 to 4, or even up to 5 years, with a `Little bit o`luck`!!!
Verde????)

Then there is also, the Green Card Lottery! – But as lotteries go, the chances of winning one are… (like) 1 in 1 Septillion? Don`t know. I`ve never played a lottery. Never had that much luck…!!

The Green Card serves as a Work Permit, which initially will also be stamped into your Passport until you actually receive the physical Green Card in the mail, which will be CONDITIONAL Green Card – (if obtained through marriage). This Condition, will be removed after 2 years of marriage to your American Citizen spouse, after which you both will have to petition for a REMOVAL of the Condition, and a New Green Card will be issued, with a validity of 10 years, (as opposed to 2 years of the Conditional Green Card). ¿Me seguís?

Also, with the Green Card, this will serve to obtain a US Social Security Number, without which, NOTHING can be achieved…One cannot even open a Bank Account!
Ah, before I forget; one will have to obtain a US Driving Licence for the State in which you are found to be living in. This can be had by applying for a Computer based exam (actually 2 exams); followed by a short driving test. The total cost for a US Driving Licence is about 26.00 USD approximately, (depending on the State), as opposed to 1.500-2000 Euros in Spain.

Here in the US, a Driving Licence (LicenSE –in American `English`), serves as an Identification Document. (ID) – equivalent to our Spanish (D.N.I.)

Note:

NO company or Air Operator, not even an European Operator like Aerlingus , will sponsor ANYONE for a Green Card and/or Work Permit. Note that the positions announced (by Aerlingus) are for their Washington Dulles base, under a US Contract.

And NO, having an European Flight Attendant qualification does NOT amount to anything here.

Those are the facts, Ladies. Gentlemen?

Lord of the Flies.

– i tot eso… SIGO utilizando un teclado raro, raro, raro… 🙂
