Incident: Vueling A320 near Amsterdam on Mar 8th 2012, hydraulic leak

A Vueling Airbus A320-200, registration EC-HTD performing flight VY-1961 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Bilbao,SP (Spain), was climbing through FL200 out of Amsterdam’s runway 36L when the crew received indication of the low quantity of hydraulic fluid in the green hydraulic system followed by indication of low hydraulic pressure on the green hydraulic system and an indication for the ELevator and Aileron Computer #2 (ELAC2 while climbing through FL260. The crew stopped the climb at FL270 and returned to Amsterdam, alternatively extended the landing gear (resulting in loss of nose wheel steering and open landing gear doors) and landed safely on Amsterdam’s runway 27 about 35 minutes after levelling off the FL270.
A replacement Airbus A320-200 registration EC-KRH reached Bilbao with a delay of 4.5 hours.
