Hola Compañeros, he recibido un email de convocatoria de Continental Airlines para sus entrevistas que llevaran a Cabo durante el mes de Noviembre y de Diciembre, son en Houston y segun el email ellos dan el transporte para ir a las entrevistas, pero mi gran duda es la siguiente, podemos los españoles trabajar en USA, o en tal caso la compañia gestionara los permisos de trabajo? yo personalmente creo que no, pero me esperare a mañana que es cuando tengo que llamar para la cita, si alguien ha tenido experiencia con esta compañia americana, me haria un gran favor en darme detalles.

Yo en principio diria que no, necesitas algo tipo green card, pero alomejor ellos luego hacen los pasos para que puedas trabajar si les interesas. Asegurate bien de eso antes de pegarte el viaje, por todo lo demás, disfruta de la experiencia en Houston !

Yo también envié la application pero aun no me dijeron nada….Segun pone si que tenemos que tener permiso para entrar y salir de USA indefinidamente, y aunque no dice nada de trabajo, me imagino que asi sera, y nosotros desgraciadamente neceistamos visado o la Green card… De todas formas, cuadno te enteres cuentanos que te dicen!!

Bueno, realmente tenemos permiso para entrar y salir de USA, lo que no podemos es Residir, ni trabajar alli, pero ya veremos, espero que todo sea Positivo, tu tienes permiso de trabajo y residencia alli?

Sin Green Card, es decir permiso de tranajo y residencia SIN restricciones es absolutamente imposible. Lo ponen enlas bases de las convocatorias. Debes estar en posesión de la GC, si no es así es mejor que no te gastes el dinero en ir. Te convocarán a las entrevistas, porque entienden que te has informado y no te piden dicho documento con antelación, pero luego te tumban. Sorry!!!

A la espera de lo que te cuenten cuando llames! Tambien me interesaria ir a USA a volar. Tengo Visa F1 de estudiante hasta 2015, pero no se me permite trabajar, la que te tendrian que tramitar es la H1b seguramente.
No se como esta el tema ahora porque cada anyo las van haciendo mas estrictas

Ufff, Bueno os cuento:
NO habia posteado por que calcule mal las horas de diferencia para llamar para la cita de la entrevista, y hoy Lunes, llamé, Me pidieron el numero de Referencia y me dijeron los dias disponibles, y que como pensaba llegar (coche, avion o bus) para gestionarme el vuelo para llegar hasta alla, y que el vuelo de Madrid a Newark, que es desde donde debo tomar la coneccion para ir a Houston, de mi Bolsillo, ufff mal, bueno a todo esto pregunte lo de si la compañia suele contratar personal extranjero sin documentacion Americana, la chica me dijo, que ella solo hacia las reservas para la entrevistas, pero que en un email que ella me enviaria habia un numero de telefono en el que podia consultar, en el email viene bien claro :

No creo que por cuatro idiomas que tenga y por mas experiencia al publico que tenga, me vallan a gestionar la documentacion de residencia y de trabajo en USA.
En principio acepte la cita, llamare al telefono de Informacion, y dependiendo de lo que me contesten a la pregunta, pues decido si cancelo o no.
Se que lo mas probable es que digan que no, pero al menos lo he intentado, para quien no lo sabe, CO es una de las compañias mejores pagadas del mundo y ahora mas con la union de UNITED, los tripulantes ganan una media de 1400 EUROS al mes, en Reserva, vuelas segun haga falta, es el sueldo base garantizado indicado en su WEB y muchos beneficios mas, os adjunto la confirmacion de la entrevista

Group Interview Appointment: Friday – December 9, 2011
You must be at the designated interview area by 9:30 am. You should plan on spending most of the day. Interview duration will depend on the number of applicants attending your interview session. You will need to present a copy of your current resume to be admitted to the interview session.
Applicants invited to attend a training class will be required to present a valid federal or state issued form of photo identification. In addition, a photo copy of a valid passport or copy of receipt verifying that an application for a passport has been submitted and is being processed will be collected. All applicants selected for training class will also be required to present documentation authorizing work and residence in the United States.
Interviews will begin promptly as scheduled. Late arrivals will not be allowed to interview at that time. If you have any questions or need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please contact Continental Airlines Inflight Recruiting at 713-324-3936. Requests for cancellations or rescheduling must be received 24 hours (one business day) prior to the interview. We can only reschedule an interview once.

Arriving by air:
A shuttle to the Inflight Training Center departs the airport every 30 minutes. Travel time is approximately 25 minutes. The shuttle is operated by a private company (Momentum Air) and is identified as the «Proudly Serving Continental Flight Simulator/ Inflight Training and Expressjet shuttle».
The shuttle provides transportation to various Continental and ExpressJet training facilities. The shuttle route is a loop with the following stops:

Continental Airlines Flight Operations Training/Flight Simulator Building
ExpressJet (Continental Express) Training Center
Continental Airlines Inflight Training Center
Marriott Airport hotel
Please ensure that you exit at the correct location. The Continental Inflight Training Center is a brown brick building and is identified with signage stating Inflight Training Center.
The pick up location is on the upper level (ticketing level) of Terminal E. You may take the lower level PeopleMover from Terminal A or the TerminaLink from Terminals C, B or D. Proceed to the ticketing level and exit through the entrance doors marked. The shuttle van pickup area is the in the middle of the center island.
Transportation from local hotels:
Most area hotels provide shuttle service directly to the Continental Airlines Inflight Training Center. Please inquire with the individual hotel regarding shuttle service and schedules to the Continental Airlines Inflight Training Center, 4375 Wright Rd.

Hola Carlos, He de decir que me entusiasma mucho las ganas que tienes de trabajar en la aviacion y que no tienes ningun limite en cuanto a salir de españa si la ocasion lo necesita (muy poca gente en este pais mira mas alla de vueling o air europa) Pero como ya te han dicho antes, sin GREEN CARD O AMERICAN PASSPORT, yo me ahorraria las llamadas.
Con tantos idiomas yo probaria en aquellos paises donde los controlas.
En cuanto al sueldo, pues te lo voy a decir claro, jejejejeje, es conocido mundialmente que los azafatos de las cias americanas, se mueren de hambre, vamos que 1400 euros al mes, es nada, si me dijeras que vives en Sudamerica, pues es una pasta, pero 1400 en USA, no te da para nada. (Recuerda que la medicina es privada, y eso alli vale mas que dos riñones) De hecho es muy raro ver a las tripulaciones americanas salir de los hoteles ya q no les llega para nada.
Yo te animo a que sigas probando, pero en aquellas en las que sabes que vas a tener oportunidades, aunque si tanta ganas tienes, por 10000 dollares consigues un matrimonio concertado en america y una green card, entonces, si que te cojeran
